I like this book (TIHYLtTW) a lot. But dropping it from an airplane might not be safe. It's a 5x8in 200p paperback. If it fell spine-down, airflow surface is only 0.0017m^2 and drag coef ~1. Term vel ~= sqrt( 3.9 / (1.225*1*0.0017) ) ~= 43 m/s. ~190 J impact. Could crush a skull!

Just finished THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE THE TIME WAR, which being a novella was a nice palate cleanser after PROJECT: HAIL MARY.
TIHYLTTW is an aberration. Nearly devoid of dialog, it is told through exposition and letters. It tells, it does not show.
And it works, brilliantly.
