Nearly 16" of snow in Cloudcroft, NM! Over 1,000 people are without power after freezing rain and heavy snow damaged transmission lines. Falling trees remain a problem. Restoration will be hazardous. Timberon and Sunspot should prepare for extended outages.

Don't remember if I ever shared renders of my house plans for my place in Timberon here. Have a couple renders.

The software I used doesn't like ellipses, nor does it like non-standard stairs, hence the weirdness with the wall and railing. I'm actually really proud I was able to break the program's stairs well enough to create my own custom stairs, based on what the professional designer actually spec-ed, somewhat. My son has 2 lots in Timberon and he said that all his pines were dying from the drought. So the rain is good for that I guess. The Sacramento forest needs the rain, but I understand Ruidoso doesn't need the floods.

There are storm clouds right now on the east side of the Sacramento Mts, weather map shows rain in Timberon, Cloudcroft, and Mescalero. And sure enough, the Cloudcroft cam shows it raining there. There is indeed some good things left. Technology tells me where rain is

Yeah, NMSU has much better gear up near Cloudcroft and Timberon, and Northwestern doesn't seem to care anymore. I wonder how much potential there really is. I might contact Northwestern and see if they'd be interested in at least letting a local astro club use it.

I think my dad was recalling his farm that he sold after retiring in Texas and not New Mexico
He also owned property in Timberon, New Mexico.
He never had a house built and was offered more than he paid for it and sold it.
It is up in the mountains and pretty but isolated.
