The best way I can sum up Gristede's is, the one and only time I went to buy meat at one, I saw a woman poking a hole in each plastic-wrapped chicken container, sniffing it, and putting it back. Among the many issues with Weiss’s memo on the CECOT story, most of the additional info she’s demanding, about the administration’s legal rationales and the prisoners’ criminal histories, was actually covered in this piece that ran earlier this year on—wait for it—“60 Minutes”.

Basically - and the fact that Rufo, who is a regent at a public college and advises the Trump admin on higher ed, is using hacked student data seems like a bigger story than what box Mamdani selected. But the Times again legitimated Rufo’s choices by making them their own. bsky.app/profile/timc...
