My exposure to agentic coding has been limited but in the time I used it at a freelance client I did not see the kind of leaps in productivity others describe. The code was sometimes useful, sometimes useless, and always required enough supervision to offset the time savings.
I think it’s important for anyone who (completely understandably) checked out on AI the second the crypto/nft/metaverse/snake oil chuds started pushing it to realize that, in at least the domain of software development, we are very much living in a scenario where the snake oil actually works
personally think if the line is going to be “no gen ai in anything” then the you might have to consider divesting from AAA games entirely because this is just what the industry is now, whether they admit it so publicly or not

100%. Writing needs reading combined with wide cultural exposure—and so much time. I try to help my students know that 1) everyone is a writer because we all have something to say about something, 2) we use writing in multifarious ways outside school, and 3) they can put together a good sentence.

Make points harder to get if negative. Half value for each activity, or double required time/actions (1 point every 2 hours, outdoor exposure twice in different locations, etc.). Could also do both, triggering a different negative values and stacking.

Took another color image from almost the exact same position ([a couple of steps to the right](/2026-03-05), actually) in early 2026. This time, the colors inside the building looked interesting, but didn't work very well on their own. Hence the idea of using a long exposure to get some more movement/lights in the foreground. It took a couple of minutes until I had cars crossing in front of me. The result is ok, but I am more happy about the fact that I headed out with the intention of making an image and succeeded! 🙂
