In 1980, Ireland won the Eurovision, so 81's competition would be held in Dublin.
Interval music was required so Whelan & Lunny came up with Timedance, with Nollaig Casey on fiddle.
In 1995, for another Eurovision, Whelan took inspiration from Timedance & gave the world Riverdance.
