#timeteam
S13E04 - Esher, Surrey

The #TimeTeam are searching for a Tudor palace owned by the Bishop of Winchester. There’s even a reference to an exorcism that took place on the site, and if that doesn’t lift spirits, a pub visit at 30m 13s certainly does. It looks as if @helengeake.bsky.social had a thirst!

S13E06 - Eastry, Kent

Whether the #TimeTeam have a moot hall or a Saxon palace is … well, moot. There’s plenty of *talk* about drink: Phil and John bet a pint on the basis of the geophys evidence, and Helen’s after a shandy by the 16th minute; but actual beer has to wait until we hit 34m 46s.

S13E02 - Withington, Gloucestershire

A fascinating dig through different phases of Roman occupation lead to bath houses, a villa, and tessellated floors, before beer and wine make an appearance in the back of the local pub at 29m 30s. This is more like the #TimeTeam archaeology we’ve come to know!

S13E03 - Manchester, “Rubble at Mill”

The #TimeTeam are on the hunt for what remains of one of Britain’s first cotton mills, right in the heart of Manchester. They’ve a Bronze Age expert and a Roman expert on hand, but what they *don’t* have is a drinking expert, for this is a dry 49m 13s episode.
November 2, 2026 at 11:32 AM
S13E05 - Utrecht, Netherlands

The #TimeTeam head to Holland to dig the remains of a Roman boat and a Roman fort a couple of miles apart. There’s plenty of water as a result, but not a drop of alcohol to be found in the whole 48m 04s episode.
November 4, 2026 at 12:01 PM
S13E01 - Glendon Hall, Northamptonshire

A grave & spooky #TimeTeam episode, investigating a C14th churchyard under the outbuildings of an old manor house. But no one wakes the dead; this episode is, quite literally, as dry as old bones for all of its 48m 47s duration. Not the best start to S13. ☠️

S12 Special - Prittlewell, Essex

The #TimeTeam visit a Museum of London dig in Essex, and uncover a rich C7th burial chamber. The surviving grave goods are stunning, including a gold-rimmed drinking horn. Wine waits until 47m 52s though, and the pub could be in either central London or Southend.
October 30, 2026 at 11:37 AM
S12 Special - Durrington, Somerset

Searching for the remains of Britain’s largest henge, the #TimeTeam tramp across Wessex, and Tony even manages to paddle a canoe. I’m beginning to think that water is Tony’s natural element though, for there isn’t a drop of alcohol in the whole 48m 13s episode.
October 30, 2026 at 10:34 AM
S12E11 - Skipsea, Humberside

Tony loses his goatee half way through this #TimeTeam season, and it’s this Yorkshire episode that reintroduces his chin, as the team dig a complex Norman coastal site. He doesn’t lose his thirst though, as this completely dry 48m 51s episode proves. Mick’s face, eh?

S12E13 - Hanslope, Milton Keynes

If anyone asks, tell them it was S12E13 of #TimeTeam that finally did for me.

I lived in Hanslope for six months, indeed I rented a room above one of the two pubs & drank in both. Neither pub features, nor is there any drink to be had in the whole 48m 14s episode.
October 29, 2026 at 10:38 AM
I’ll be watching a couple of episodes of Tony Robinson’s #TimeTeam, and cataloguing how quickly the team get to the pub and down a beer in each.

S12 Special - Colchester, Essex

As if the world isn’t already one bloody big circus, the #TimeTeam are searching for a lost Roman circus in this episode, alongside a better understand of the sport of chariot racing. They do it without benefit of drink though, and we’ve another 48m 48s drought.
October 30, 2026 at 10:24 AM
S12 Special - Washingborough, Lincoln

The #TimeTeam are in the Lincolnshire fens, digging for the pre-historic on the site of a 3,000 year-old settlement. They’ve subtitled this one “Life on the Edge.” On the edge my arse - it’s yet another dry episode, all 49m 14s of it. S12 ends as expected: DRY.
October 30, 2026 at 11:48 AM
S12E10 - South Perrott, Dorset

This #TimeTeam episode starts out looking Roman, then looks to be Bronze Age, before turning out to actually be Neolithic. Thousands of years of history, and not a single drink to show for it in the whole 48m 37s episode. The dry-as-dust curse of S12 strikes again.
October 26, 2026 at 12:06 PM
S12E12 - South Shields, Tyneside

Searching for a Roman cemetery, this #TimeTeam episode was subtitled ‘Tower Blocks and Togas’. Anyone expecting a block party, let alone a toga party, is set to be disappointed though. We do get a seaweed beer demonstration at 32m 49s, but no modern quaffing at all.
October 29, 2026 at 10:28 AM
S12E09 - St Osyth, Essex

Essex is arguably better known for its pubs than for its holy women. There’s a lot of talk about St Osyth’s head in this #TimeTeam episode, right enough, and there’s a lot of water, but of HOLY water we’ve none until we see the inside of the Red Lion at the 29m 51s mark.
October 26, 2026 at 11:12 AM
S12E08 - Wemyss, Fife

On the search for the Picts and hermit cave dwellers of Fife, the #TimeTeam spend all of 48m 13s avoiding all seven pubs in the greater Wemyss area. It’s a shocker.

Phil complains about “too much bone” but I’d complain about dying of thirst! S12 really is testing my faith.

Discovered #TimeTeam during Covid and it's one of the greatest British shows I've ever watched. The whole crew is awesome, especially Phil Harding! You can watch Time Team Classic and the new Time Team Official series on YouTube. www.youtube.com/TimeTeamClas...

Top find in a National Trust secondhand bookshop yesterday! Brought back memories of watching Victor Ambrus sketching away on Time Team - an extraordinary illustrator with such a distinctive and disciplined style. And signed by him and Mick too ❤️ #timeteam #nerdlings #miniatures #spreadthelard

I think these sweaters are iconic in the UK. Proof Mick Aston was on a weekly tv program and he always wore a hand knitted striped jumper. He had loads of them. He had many fans who made them for him. Bless

Owed to #TimeTeam - A Pint

Lots of pot

Tickled pink

Saying bye
If it’s this dry
With nary drink

S12E06 - River Hamble, Hampshire

On the search for Henry V’s flagship, the #TimeTeam could have knocked me down with a feather when we saw decent, honest pints of beer at the 28m 55s mark - I honestly thought we were going to get half way through this season without a whistle being wetted! Cheers!
October 19, 2026 at 12:39 PM
S12E05 - Northborough, Peterborough

With boroughs coming out their backsides, the #TimeTeam search for a Neolithic causewayed enclosure, and end up in a ditch. The only time I EVER ended up in a ditch, I was drunk. Not these guys though - a fifth successive dry episode for all its 48m 45s duration.
October 18, 2026 at 2:28 PM
S12E03 - Warton, Lincolnshire

Phil’s face says it all - the #TimeTeam are looking for two downed Second World War bombers in the marshes of Lincolnshire, and while they’ve some success, no toasts are raised in another dry 49m 50s episode. S12 is therefore 0 for 3 thus far, disappointingly enough.
