If we're being honest she really should've gotten a Maril, but since Kenji already had one I think an Upah makes a fine alternate. I'd have also like to have seen Togepy evolve during the second half of Johto, but for now I'd keep it as-is.

Togepy being the only one of our heroes' Pokémon to not let Himeguma get away with its bullshit is so funny to me.

In this episode, at least, having Togepy around was a way for the Rocket trio to keep Pikachu from attacking them with its electricity. That’s why Pikach’s acting so helpless in all these screenshots.

Can't help but wonder why Team Rocket still attempt to snag Togepy when it's literally the only Pokémon they've ever successfully delivered to Sakaki and he rejected it.

The Rocket boys using baby carriers to move Pikachu and Togepy around is such a fun little detail.

IIRC Togepy got Teleport four times - the Pinkan Island episode, the Redian episode, this one and the one where it teleports Satoshi's egg (which isn't how that attack works but whatever).
Metronome was used nine times, so Teleport came out 44% which is still a lot for a supposedly random attack.

Episode 180 "Hellgar and Togepy!"
A scary looking Pokémon ends up being a pretty OK dude! I'm glad Togepy got this focus episode (it's about time!) even if it kind of ends up being a whole lot of nothing.

7. Another thing about Pokémon, since I saw the anime first before playing any of the games - Togepi became my favorite Pokémon because I first saw the episode in the anime where Misty’s Togepi hatches

It's always interesting to see which Pokémon get included in these things and which ones get left out. All six of Satoshi's Pokémon get to be in this, for example, but only Kasumi's Togepy and Koduck make the cut. Meanwhile, Ishitsubute's friends are all MIA.

Math time! If we assume the Pokémon on the rock here -- Pikachu, Togepy, Nyarth, and Utsubot -- are all the same weight as what's listed in the video games, and the rock is perfectly balanced when everyone's standing like so, then how much do Musashi and Kojirou weigh?

Is this only the second time the Rocket trio's caught Togepy, after that one time in Kanto? Or have they caught it other times as well?
In any case I like how Togepy being present means Pikachu can't be as reckless as it maybe would be otherwise, which is a nice change of pace.

Why are our heroes acting like they've never seen a real life fossil Pokémon before? Did they forget all about their adventure in Grandpa Canyon? Y'know, the place where Lizardo evolved into Lizardon? Where they found the egg that would eventually hatch into Togepy? Hello!?

Gonna make Togepi work, even if it's just enough to evolve it and have a dedicated fly mon. I'm gonna rage and scream aren't I.....

I've seen claims online that Togepy uses Earthquake to defeat the Rocket trio here (and that this, therefore, is the animated debut of the attack) but the episode itself never actually tells us one way or the other.

I literally LOLed during this whole Togepy vs. Pikachu battle.
This is seriously one of the most entertaining battles of the series.
