#toothtuesday A large lower premolar of the extinct "killer" walrus Pelagiarctos thomasi from the Sharktooth Hill Bonebed near Bakersfield, California, ~15.5 myo, middle Miocene. Specimen in @ucmpberkeley collections, published in Barnes, 1988. 🦖🐬
An image with a black background, a 10 mm scale bar, and a large, triangular and cuspate carnivore tooth with two massive long roots; the enamel is a chocolate brown color and the roots are a pale tan.

#toothtuesday The largest tooth that I ever collected of the Oligocene (28-30 myo) megatoothed shark, Carcharocles angustidens, from Charleston, SC. Found while kayaking a lowcountry river with @tetrameryx.bsky.social and our friend Ashby Gale. 🦖🧪🦑
A hand holding a large dark gray tooth with a black root over a mudflat - it is shaped like an isosceles triangle and is a bit longer than wide. The enamel is encrusted with bryozoans and a bunch of barnacles.

#toothtuesday A 31 million year old molar of a tiny toothed baleen whale (likely Fucaia buelli) emerges from a concretion after a few days in an acid bath. Specimen from the Makah Formation of Washington, made available for study by Jim Goedert. 🐬🦖
A small molar with light brown enamel and a dark cutting edge protrudes from a light gray sandy rock; it is low-crowned and you can see sux triangular cusps in an arc. A scale bar is off to the right. A small molar with light brown enamel and a dark cutting edge protrudes from a light gray sandy rock; it is quite narrow and the cusps curve slightly to the left. Cracks are filled with material that makes them look like white lace. #toothtuesday New blog post out this week - part 1 in a series on the fossil record of transitional whales and dolphins from the Eocene and Oligocene of New Zealand. First up - archaeocete whales and toothed mysticetes, like Kekenodon and Tohoraonepu. coastalpaleo.blogspot.com/2025/12/the-... 🐬🦖🧪
A broad, multicuspate and double rooted molar of the kekenodontid whale Tohoraonepu from New Zealand. An undescribed llanocetid, known thus far only as the "protosqualodont" of Keyes, with a low crown, six to seven cusps, and deeply ridged enamel. One of the cheek teeth of the giant Oligocene archaeocete whale Kekenodon onamata from New Zealand. This has long roots that are partially fused and a triangular crown with many large, but worn, accessory cusps. The original illustration of the teeth and earbones of Kekenodon onamata from the late 19th century.

Anyway my belated #ToothTuesday tip for gyms, American football teams/coaches, basketball, boxing, MMA is get and keep some Hanks' Solution (not a brand name) for your first aid kit. If a tooth is knocked out, put it in the solution according to the directions.

Hey guys!
@gazasmilemaker on Instagram is currently building a gazan charity medical center. You can support it here chuffed.org/project/1445...
After months of work and fatigue.. We were able, to prepare the first step in our largest project which is the “Charity Medical Center”… The first step in this project was the “Dental Clinic” because it is the closet to our slogan… “Smile Makers” Details of what we need to operate the clinic: 4 solar panels x 12,000 = 48,000 NIS = $14,500 2 storage batteries × 10,000 = 20,000 NIS = $6,000 3-kilowatt power regulator = 8,000 NIS = $2,400 Withdrawal fee in Gaza (25%) = 19,000 NIS. = $5,700 Total cost required to operate the clinic: 95,000 NIS = $28,700 The average cost of treating one patient is $60 Donate here: https://chuffed.org/project/144526-help-make-smiles?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAac78h_VCA-XXJFOG_DPE7brbIOfdhjEZdrtIsfA8XUVKhS7IIkmrlQMBVZ1ng_aem_AbYLXK3TPtO6zthzMsB7xQ For contact: WhatsApp: +970597741404

Anyway the most astonishing thing about a Blackwater mercenary with a Nazi tattoo running as a Democrat is you should give money to the first mutual aid post you see.

#toothtuesday Fur seals and sea lions evolved from ancestors with double-rooted teeth - but evolved single rooted teeth over the past five million years. Shown here is the 'anagenetic' evolution of the northern fur seal, Callorhinus ursinus. Read more here: coastalpaleo.blogspot.com/2025/10/the-...
Evolution of the northern fur seal (Callorhinus) lineage over the last five million years. On the left is a series of diagrams showing the gradual fusion of the postcanine tooth roots, and on the right are photos of the actual fossils - the possibly ancestral Thalassoleon mexicanus through Callorhinus gilmorei, the early Pleistocene unnamed Callorhinus sp., and the modern Callorhinus ursinus.

Any help is appreciated, and the GFM quoted has more details and updates.
