After casting your lure, let out extra line until the line coming off the spool lines back up with your line guide. This can make a huge difference when you see something strike the surface and you need some extra distance to get there. Also for the longest casts, align your line guide in the center of your spool. I only had time to cast it 4-5 times. It’s smooth. The level wind follows the spool, even on the cast. Hopefully that’s not a problem for how fast it’s moving on long casts. Posted by TopWaterFishing

If anyone is looking for a premium rod at a discount, this could be it. This rod is extremely sensitive. I’ve been using it since august 2024 and love it. It was only $100 then, but it’s still worth the $160ish. Stainless fuji eyes and fuji reel seat. They have some cheaper 2 piece rods that are very nice as well, but this is the 1 piece boss. I fish inshore and have never bought a Metanium. I caught this one on sale, and I have to say this is the best reel I have ever casted. I have had it for 6 months and decided to open it up for a full service and it was spotless. Of course had to go ahead and upgrade to carbontex drag washers and full ceramic bearing upgrade.
