The only other things I make notes on are like race (troll, elven, lizard folk, etc) lore in ToSN.

When I was working on a 1950s lesbian romance I would ofc make notes about what was relevant for that time period.

But for the most part, I just get an idea and write.

I've got 2 video game characters named Linden who have very different vibes. Linden on the left is my mage in Tree of Savior: NEO, while Linden on the right is my Merlin from AFK Journey. #tosn #afkjourney
Two guys named Linden! The Linden on the right is an adult man with honey blond hair with a golden wreath. I fucked up drawing his right eye, but don't look at that, look at the monocle over his right eye instead. Linden on the right is wearing an elaborate blue and gray robe with armor and on his back is a mage's staff. The Linden on the left looks like a young teenager with a flower crown on his head. He has lighter blond hair in a swoopy hair style and big blue eyes. He's wearing a cream colored button up shirt with green suspenders and an orange cravat with a blue cravat pin. This younger Linden is holding a large carrot plush toy and also is wearing a monocle. They're a bit similar, if you just look at the hair and monocle, but the rest of them are very different. The main thing they share are being mages named Linden!

Skipping Day 2 bc fancasts don't interest me personally.

My inspiration for the stories in ToSN came about from my own desire to see more queer characters (of all varieties) in fantasy stories.

There's also a healthy dose of inspiration from Tolkien in there, too of course. 😅

I don't know if this counts as weird or not, but all the place names in ToSN are taken from places that meant a lot to me as a kid. Shady Nook was a road, for example. Deer Creek used to be an outdoor concert venue. I lack photos from my childhood so I wanted to immortalize them in my stories.

I gave myself permission to move onto the next Tales of Shady Nook story in this post, and ever since then the words have just been pouring out of me. On everything. Other blog posts, other stories, and yes for the day story in the ToSN series. It's been utterly fantastic!
