At least the new touchmark was a success
Once upon a time (the early 1990s), DC editor Art Young was hired by Disney Comics to launch an adult-skewing line of comics called Touchmark. He gathered a fairly astonishing array of talent and got to work. And then one day someone at Disney woke up and said, "Hell, no, we can't do this!"

and last detail: Martin's touchmark (a personalized blacksmith's stamp indicating who made it).
martin's touchmark is a simple, "M"
if you forge tier 4 weapons you get a "M/J" symbol in menu - a mix of Martin/Jindřich (Henry in Czech). but the physical model doesn't change after reforging

I just learned that some of Vertigo's launch titles (Enigma by Peter Milligan and Sebastian O by Grant Morrison) were originally pitched to a creator-owned mature-readers imprint owned by Disney that never got off the ground

Disney once had Touchstone films that started in the 1980's to handle their pg-13 and R rated films. They released such films as Splash,Good Morning Vietnam and Down and Out in Beverly Hills. I wonder if the comics imprint Touchmark was in the same vein?
