Never heard of this- and at first it seems tempting- but it *is* pretty killjoy. Round here (and the last 2 small towny places I've lived) you just signal you're trick or treater-friendly by putting a pumpkin or decorations out. And if you don't, people assume you're a warlock etc and don't knock
Trick or treating in a British town is very funny. Adults don't want annoying kids ringing the bell so they put out a bucket of sweets. The kids want the sweets for playground resale value so the buckets all go immediately and the whole thing is more or less over by 5.35.

I was in high school when the movie came out and loved it then, though I couldn’t fully appreciate it. But a few years later I spent time in Bloomington, staying with a towny family friend for a week and swimming in the quarries, and I gained a whole new appreciation for it.

I would say "in Minecraft" as a joke, except it wasn't in Minecraft lol. I do miss the days where I would play on a towny server and buy a plot of land to build on though. I don't think building is quite as easy irl.

A lot of MT ranchers hate Am Prairie (Soros 💰), and they will use every lever available to weaken/defeat AP... So I would call this a temporary win for AP. Since Soros is involved, this creates a common enemy for ranchers and towny Republicans.
