No modern toyline Gets It like Classified does.

Classic characters plus absolutely wild and off-the-wall new ones is a winning combination for everyone.

The LJN Dungeons and Dragons toy line will always have a special place in my heart because it was the last figure line I ever got into. Even though I didn't enjoy the game, it felt more grown-up than MOTU, & I really loved the character design. More here:

Holy shit the Surgery for Dummies book??
I'm always saying this but no other toyline is on Joe Classified's level.

A walking rusty battleship made out of the defunct parts of the generation before it - and toss on a big metal spike to show them you really mean business.

Look LOOK THAT'S THE NAME OF THE TOYLINE OH MY GOD REFERENCE (I miss my gay crew)

Next one is LEWA — best tool, best Kanohi design (by far) and it adds to the best region in all of Mata Nui (all in my opinion of course). Still, I think Pohatu got the edge because of his build. The Miru is the absolute peak Kanohi design in the whole toyline.

I find it ironic that the quality of Mattel's latest JW toyline is declining, yet non-officially licensed toys like this raptor figure is more movie accurate posture and anatomy wise. Just a basic green color and cheap.

His toyline isn’t even selling. Not well, not badly, just straight-up not selling.

Lunchly was shipped with mold.

Of course, a lot of these points are more or less verbatim from Dan Olson’s vid about his trip to beast studios, but like. The point still stands.

why the shit is this detail about Tom King included? who tf wants to know who pitched a show about a toyline? cool this show was pitched by a fed. what now?

And I realize it’s semantics, but part of the Infinity toyline is a collab with Metal Heroes, which others them.

The weird western vibe really fits the "shoot marbles at your friends these are little gun guys who shoot marbles you should shoot them at your friends" gimmick the toyline has going on and it plays really well with it being in some fantasy land rather than the real world like beyblade and such

Spotted Deathstroke (Arkham Origins) at my local Walmart, if you were looking for one.

DC Comics previously asked McFarlane to not include guns guns guns in their toyline, but what are they going to do? Take away their toy license?

also sidebar but while I do really enjoy the first bit of skybound TF, it does sadden me deeply in comparison to most of IDW

there was a large period of time where the comics were directly influencing the toylines, and for a long while now the comics have been forced to be influenced by the toyline

I think the wildest thing is Star Wars toys have always been about Yakfaces and Wuhers; the notion of popularity being a gate to inclusion in a Star Wars toyline-- for collectors!!-- is preposterous.

A #Transformers pic every day in October. Day 3: The TakaraTomy version of Animated Voyager(?) Optimus Prime with the accessories from the “Wingblade” release.

TakaraTomy’s release of the Animated toyline did not fare well at domestic retail, but the toys were absolutely freakin’ incredible!

Plus the whole no ‘new big thing’ could also link to the leaked ‘stylised’ figures for next year’s Megatron Rising toyline like Mirage and Scorponok. Just taking what they already have and doing a bit of a revamp of them after having already done pretty media-accurate takes on their G1 show designs.

Feels crazy to say "G.I. Joe is currently a creatively healthier and more confident toyline than Transformers" but it's true!
October 3, 2026 at 9:05 AM
Honestly, the new 2027 Generations leaks have me more optimistic about TF's direction than I have been in a while, insomuch as it suggests that we might at least wind up with something akin to Joe Classified, where it's a toyline entirely for adult collectors, but one that has confidence it can >
October 3, 2026 at 9:05 AM
It suck but it is conceptually funny for a toyline to try and build hype in their announcement by assuring they won't touching like a good 40% of the franchise, but we will sell you Ponda Baba
October 3, 2026 at 3:31 AM
usually im happy to ignore transformers media because most of it is terribly not for me, but the leaked toyline story concept.. ugh

we need noble good heroes more than ever right now. 'winning the war corrupted optimus and now the multiversal megatrons are the good guys'? what the fascist fuck
October 3, 2026 at 2:13 AM
Wait, if they're doing a G2 Gobots Megatron, in a toyline with a Megatron themed combining gimmick

Then is it possible that things would align in such a way for there to be a Spychangers Combiner?

Thus begins the Skydancer saga

I'm tempted to bring there was a toyline/cartoon called that that which didn't last a year

Today on TokuToy Impact -

I finally managed to grab another one of these guys, and I got one of my favorite classic Rider designs (for toys, anyway)

Riderman just has that vintage toy aesthetic I love.
