This new OLED TR7x7 screen from Addictive Instruments in France is a phenomenal bit of engineering, but having installed it into a TR707 I now realise I've never actually looked at the drum grid on a TR707 screen as it's entirely unnecessary to operating the thing and it takes too long read it.

TR707 with individual pitch controls, decay controls for the open hat, closed hat, ride and crash, plus a custom routing mod that allows sounds to be switched between the main outs and individual outs by hand without removing cables.

Even after over 2 decades doing this we're still impressed by some of the quality bodging we see on a regular basis!
Do you have a two pin EU power supply for your TR707? Why not just snap both the pins off, drill out the pin mountings and wire a UK plug in through the holes? If it works, it works!

That surely means that you should never record a TR707 or any other 12 bit drum machine, because the second you do it all suddenly somehow becomes unacceptably 'better' than the actual audio that the machine produces, and the magic is gone. This vintage gear fetish is turning people into cretins.

Il fait juste des erreurs minimes en mentionnant la boîte à rythme TR808 et le synthé basse TB303 qui seront des machines utilisées quelques années plus tard dans l'acid house. Sur la house de Chicago des débuts, on y entend la boîte à rythme TR707 (c'est la mienne sur la photo en dessous).
