There used to be someone (now retired) round here who would do a surgical trachy under local then put them on the vent on PSV…

Like theres just so much to this list. Basic toileting equipment, compression bandages for venous leg ulcers, the suction stuff for trachy patients, pumps for analgesia or feeds, diabetes supplies. This is basic healthcare for so many people just gone in a snap of the fingers.

I’ve been the nurse supporting carers who supported a trachy-ventilated, electronic wheel chair using 6 year old in a Victorian era built mainstream school. And gosh, was it difficult. The inclusive experience presented different risks to different people at different times. It was an eye opener!

It was my autism that did it. I'd had visions that I had holes around my neck covered in plasters. I'd avoided seeing my trachy cos I hated the idea of it all. Being shown the dressing made it worse - the hole is THAT big? Nobody had factored in the autism.

Juste au nord, un autre se distingue : le Puy de la Mey. Formé lors d'une éruption il y a 9700 ans et également constitué de trachy-basalte, il a émis une petite coulée bien plus étendue et recouverte de forêt. Le sol rocailleux des coulées ne devant pas être favorable à l'agriculture.
