For #FindsFriday a blue on white transferware sherd from the Thames Foreshore. Haven’t been able to trace the design but loved seeing the butterfly perched on a tendril. Coincidentally, I’ve just seen my first one of the year in our garden, also a blue. It’s worrying how few there are #mudlark

Not sure if this is ominous or not, but found this morning on the Thames Foreshore a Victorian-era Transferware Sherd featuring an anxious angel (with one wing.) Though am taking comfort from my second sherd find of the day - a Gent out for a stroll with his loved one (I hope.) Solvitur Ambulando.

Slow start and not much in the way of finds from my first two foreshore outings of 2025, which is often the way and I’m not complaining. But I did spot some nice pottery sherds including this sweet little scene from a Transferware sherd. Blue on white, a little man walking in front of an archway.
