It’s an area that’s basically a clearing in the forest with a road down the middle, there’s some open area that’s not particularly grassy, some low shrubs and lots of big trees. I’ve seen them down on the ground near the picnic area and trail, but yesterday I saw them in the trees rooting around.

Most of the shots you see from me in Samuel Lewis State Park are from atop Mt. Pisgah, the 885 ft high ridge with its stunning views of the Susquehanna. The 85 acre park also has peaceful gentle rolling slopes, and many perfect #BenchOfTheDay candidates

We often head out that way in summer for a picnic by the river.
