For the last several years we have ended Halloween by watching Treevenge, and I have to say, this is probably my favorite tradition

Nice to see Jason Eisener (Hobo With A Shotgun, Treevenge) popping up with a wee #Halloween delight that fits in snuggly between Carpenter's Halloween & Season Of The Witch. Project Shamrock, a 16mm treat.

"There seems to be an unhealthy fixation with harming children!" 🔪 Where did he come from? How did he become a supernatural murderer? Learn more about the origins of the evil Michael Myers in this long lost horror short - found recently and covertly uploaded online. Project Shamrock is a 5-minute horror film made by Canadian horror director Jason Eisener (Hobo with a Shotgun, Kids vs Aliens, Treevenge, "Dark Side of the Ring") that presents a fictionalized fan film version of how Myers from the Halloween series turned into this slasher villain. Starring Dave Brunt as The Janitor. This seems to be riffing on the recent "Crystal Lake" series which is an unnecessary origin story about Jason from the Friday the 13th movies. But it's also an homage to the terrific horror sequel Halloween III: Season of the Witch which introduced the sneaky Silver Shamrock Corporation. A good horror film to watch if you've never seen it before. Project Shamrock is a not-for-profit fan film, shot over two days on 16mm and 8mm film in Dartmouth and Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is rad! A clever, grainy, well-made horror tribute to the madness of Michael Myers. Enjoy. // Continue Reading ›

Not the same but a similar concept.
Go to you tube (or your favorite video site) and watch "treevenge"

It works for Halloween but it is much better at Christmas.

If you've never seen TREEVENGE, I'm glad I'm the sicko who put it in your stocking.

From Jason Eisener (HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN, DARK SIDE OF THE RING) comes a sinister, silly short film about the horrors of being a Christmas tree. When the trees decide to fight back, it becomes a very red Christmas. 🎄

Long ago words on this holiday masterpiece. 🎥📽️🎞️🎬🎄

Screenshot of my writing on Treevenge from CHUD

Drew: I think Jason Eisener’s Hobo With A Shotgun is the best neo-grindhouse movie ever made. It’s not just the aesthetic he nails but also this alternate reality feeling that populates so much of trash cinema. What’s doubly impressive is that Eisener can maintain such an enormously over-the-top tone without sacrificing moments of genuine emotion.

And I could certainly go on and on about how that applies to his demented short Treevenge. But look, let’s just cut straight to the heart (or bark) of this thing: Christmas trees murder people, and one of them crushes a baby’s head. This is why the art of moviemaking was invented. If you don’t derive joy out of seeing a bunch of pine trees get bloody revenge for countless years of abuse at the hands of giddy humans, then I don’t think this is the movie website for you. I could watch that baby’s head get Yulefucked for the rest of time. Treevenge should preempt every televised broadcast of A Charlie Brown Christmas and A Christmas Story. It’s more wonderful than It’s A Wonderful Life and more miraculous than Miracle on 34th Street. It never fails to put me in the holiday spirit. And I’ve never put up a Christmas tree since seeing this for fear that one day, Jason Eisener’s short film will become misconstrued as a historical document.
