Jeweler’s loupe…perfect for checking trichomes for amber. $8.95 on Amazon, which I find amazing. Would make a fine stocking stuffer.

This is one of mine…you can see the clear trichomes. As soon as they start to turn amber I harvest, I don’t wait until they get dark like the one in that previous post.

A nice bud of Grape Han grew outdoors this season smokes really nice and terps are fruity and pungent.
Glad to live in legal state. Let's keep it legal in MA!

Of my trichomes? I don’t have anything with a lens that could take a shot like that. I’ll post another picture of what they look like.

When they turn amber they’re ready. That one I posted looks like it should have been harvested a couple of shades lighter…trichomes continue to ripen even while drying. If you let them get too dark the weed will take on a sedative effect like strong Indica.

Pretty sure that wouldn't do anything as the pain of gympie gympie comes from the structure of its trichomes, which in powder form would have little of the same effectiveness.

What Is Kief ? The Cannabis Connoisseur’s Guide to Trichomes, Potency, and Uses If you have ever opened the bottom compartment of a multi-piece weed grinder and discovered a fine, powdery, golden-amber dust, you have encountered kief. Often spelled "keef" and historically described as dry sift, kief represents the most potent natural component of the cannabis plant. While whole cannabis flower delivers a balanced smoking experience, kief isolates the plant’s active biochemical compounds into a concentrated powder.

From my reading of EvoDevo literature, it is largely built on animal models. What if these are too morphologically and regulatorily stable to really work in plants? Plants are constantly recreating major tissues like laticifers and diff trichomes in a way that may not fit current EvoDevo theory.

I've given them (as per schedule) another serving of that 2-weekly booster .. (mostly for the one on the right and some for the one in the middle.
According to the breeder's website, the one on the left should be harvest-ready, this week (we'll see .. thus far, no amber trichomes at all).
