CIA Director John Ratcliffe's secret trip to Moscow has sparked significant diplomatic intrigue. According to insiders, Ratcliffe proposed a trilateral meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to address the ongoing Russo-Ukraine war. The trip, conducted via an unmarked U.S. military plane from Latvia, was so covert that even top White House officials were unaware of its purpose. Russian intelligence chiefs Sergey Naryshkin and Alexander Bortnikov were reportedly engaged during the visit, with the goal of persuading Putin to resume U.S.-mediated negotiations with Ukraine. U.S. officials briefed Zelenskyy on the discussions, highlighting the strategic effort to de-escalate the conflict. While Trump downplayed the mission as 'standard business,' the move underscores the administration's persistent attempts to broker peace. European officials expressed concern over the secrecy, with the Wall Street Journal noting the trip's impact on intelligence dynamics. This development marks a critical moment in the geopolitical landscape, as the U.S. seeks to mediate between Russia and Ukraine amid prolonged hostilities.
