Apparently Trottiscliffe in Kent is pronounced Trosley.

My childhood attempt to pronounce Phuket made my mum laugh out loud (and make me promise not to call it that at school...) 😂

Near us, there's Trosley Park in Trottiscliffe...which is also pronounced Trosley. 🤷 England has some weird placenames.

I see your Reading, and raise you one Trottiscliffe. Obviously pronounced Trosley. Place names in England are fun. That’s why it’s so shameful that early settlers in America just called everywhere Birmingham.

To follow up on last night's Ice Cream Truck, here's another piece of cartoon car art featuring yours truly.
You can really see the influence that CARtoons magazine had on me growing up, especially those How To Draw pages by George Trosley.

I used to like George Trosley but he's a MAGAt now.

Sweet. Like a cross between Rat Fink and Trosley

Sorry, but what the fuck’s going on with Trosley Avenue? Any Kentish person worth their salt knows that should be spelt, “Trottiscliffe”. The pronunciation is still “TROZ-lee”, of course.

How about the Trosley cartoons!

An afternoon walk at Trosley CP, Vigo in cold weather & light rain. The majority of the CP was quiet with just Great Tit’s heard. As we turned on the Woodland Trial, the Merlin app picked up Redwing, which I’ll check. A probable Coal Tit also needs checking. Hopefully found some Scarlet Elfcup’s.

Trottiscliffe in Kent. Pronounced ’Trosley’ by the locals.

About time!

Lovely to see some of our 'string of parks' included (Trosley and Shorne).

It's going to be increasingly important to preserve spaces like these as we see new developments, like the Ebbsfleet garden city and new Thames Crossing.

It's #FindsFriday once again!

We have this lovely paw print in our Romano-British villa excavation at Trosley which we believe may be a badger paw print!

Its one of a number of paw prints and signature marks we have in the CBM assemblage, with more information to come in due course!

Its #FindsFriday!

During our curator's work repacking the Trosley Roman Villa & Bathhouse excavation archive Andy came across this lovely little tile fragment with another pawprint on it.

We aren't entirely sure what animal this came from; what are your thoughts?

Let us know in the comments!
