Had a great time with friends on the drift boat yesterday. Got to fish too water due to the ongoing shad kill. Streamers and eggs were bringing them out to eat. #flyfishing #fishing #trout #troutroutes #caneyforkriver

Got skunked yesterday. It happens. We tried everything. My buddy did catch one rainbow with an egg. Highly pressured tail waters are a finicky beast. #flyfishing #troutbum #caneyforkriver #nashville #troutroutes #onxmaps #fishing

Question: Do you subscribe to any #flyfishing services, podcasts, or publications?

@connertolley.bsky.social and I chatted about TroutRoutes (now in the onX family). I subscribe to both, because I find value there.

How about you? What do you value enough to pay monthly for in this hobby of ours?

A cutting board I made recently. I work at onX Maps. We've just launched a new fishing app. It's currently only available for Minnesota and Wisconsin but we are expanding quickly to other states. We also have TroutRoutes app for fly fishing. #onxmaps #fishing #onxfish #minnesota #wisconsin

Tell Zack I said thanks. I love TroutRoutes.

For me, aside from TroutRoutes and onX Backcountry, it’s Substack, Garmin InReach, and a few podcasts: Mountain & Prairie (Ed Roberson) and The River Rambler Podcast (my buddy, Richard Harrington).

TroutRoutes, DIY Fly Fishing, and Fishbrain. Haven’t touched the second two since I started using TroutRoutes, which is awesome. However, I do suggest always verifying public access with a secondary source, I usually check with the nearest fly shop

I cancelled both TroutRoutes and onX when prices last increased. I'm axing all subscriptions that increase prices without offering more. YouTubeTV is next.

OnxMaps, where I work, bought TroutRoutes this year. We are known for our public land mapping apps. Give it a shot! Let me know what you think.

The Wade Out There Podcast is awesome imho. I enjoy his questions and a lot of his guests. I don’t subscribe to troutroutes but use onX regularly

I downloaded the TroutRoutes app on Saturday and have been glued to that ever since. Bass Pro also has a fishing sale that started today and I might get a new reel. The fever has over taken me, ha

I tried Troutroutes but truly did not understand the purpose. It was just Google maps with all water highlighted and arbitrarily scored, as far as I could tell. I gained no insight or value from the app that I couldn't gain from Google maps and my state's resources

I get it! It’s a reality with any subscription service, and it doesn’t feel great. I have enjoyed how TroutRoutes has evolved since its launch. But honestly, this is why I pose the question. Thanks for taking the time to reply, Dustin!
