This is why municipal elections matter. A LOT. There is so much that be done at the local council level to help increase housing and help with affordability. Heck, why not start to include green measures in zoning, get more solar into new homes, for instance.

Those are some simple and useful requests. I think we have also need to have a chat about land transfer taxes. And, while we do want to help buyers, we don't want to create upward pressure on prices again. So we must be cautious with buyer incentives.

The Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) reported a 5‑month high for home sales in June (5,068 units, up 8.1% month‑over‑month), while prices in the GTA declined by 0.9% to a benchmark of C$978,200, and were down 5.5% year‑over‑year

𝗧𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗕 𝗝𝗨𝗡𝗘 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗦: There were 6,243 home sales, down 2.4% from June 2024. New listings rose to 19,839, up 7.7% year-over-year. The MLS HPI Composite benchmark fell by 5.5% year-over-year, with an average selling price of $1,101,691.
