Hobbies? Making music, writing comics/prose, playing JRPGs and action adventure games.
I would put cooking and lounging on my comfy couch as hobbies, but those are survival related.

Everyone should come to the table hoping to tell the best story. Your character will always be cool if you approach games like a communal campfire. I do miss playing more TTRGS

I think it's because I'm a database administrator. I just think the superpower of digital tools is their ability to store, relate, and present data. Build the data into the sheets. We can roll the dice and choose the highest or whatever our own damn selves. 😅

In my spare time (lol) one of my hobbies is game design, specifically skirmish or tabletop games. I consistently read rulebooks across a variety of game systems and try to understand or abstract what makes that game work, what makes it interesting, and how to integrate it for my games in the future.

This time last year was around the time when I had my plans for the next year completely rug pulled. But I completed my masters, started running ttrgs again and did a lot of travel with friends.
Here's hoping next year will be less choppy waters more chill times with friends.

I absolutely hate "rule of cool" in TTRGs.
Like, bro. The GM is already doing enough work already without the added pressure of deciding if something a player did was cool enough to deserve a Scooby snack.

Each has it's place really. If you want tactical minutae, rules heavy is important. If you want narrative, you want rules light to give everyone enough breathing room. Both have their purpose and part in the hobby. Also remember kids: You cannot play TTRGs wrong. Anything goes, when fun is had.
