#Turkeywork (also Norwich-work) is a hand-knotted and cut wool pile furnishing textile popular from the C16 - mid C18 in England. Elizabethan Turkeywork was commercially produced in 1583 in Norwich but also in Windsor and York.
Original designs imitated Middle Eastern imported carpets.

Ho ho ho! I stitched this because it reminded me of me and my dog. This was a Mill Hill kit and the beard was my first time doing turkeywork.

my best friend has made friends with a California Scrub Jay family over the course of the past year and i've been privileged to see how much joy they brought her. she recently moved, and i made this embroidery as a gift to commemorate the relationship.
