I got to see some Eastern Painted Turtle hatchlings being released. They were very tiny still with their egg tooth.

A wonderful morning walk today, The Aurora "Turtle Tias" were at the park unearthing turtle eggs as part of conservation efforts. Sadly all Turtle species in Ontario are at risk. All work was done with the correct permits.

Turtle eggs numbered and ready to go to a incubator at a reptile rescue and then after they hatch they are brought back to this very spot to be released. Turtle eggs being unearthed with proper permits so that they can be brought to an incubator and hatched. a hand moves turtle eggs from the nest to a container to be taken to an incubator. Obviously with the proper permits. What a place for a turtle to put her nest.
