Also hilariously enough, Debian *is more updated and recent than Linux Mint*. I never thought I'd ever be uttering these words but its true. LM is based off Ubuntu 24.04, meaning software (including desktop environments) are behind Debian.

do i even need to mention the repercussions this will have? it (or ubuntu, based on debian and sucks in its own ways) are used in servers everywhere, and now it’s gonna be way more unstable than it ever has been. i don’t care how much testing it goes through, those tests were “written“ by ai anyway

I started my migration away from Windows when Vista came out. Having to wait up to 10 minutes just to get a desktop after switching on or rebooting was unacceptable. I was installing Linux server based systems for a customer so took the plunge with Ubuntu. A history with Ultrix on DEC system helped!
