#uitableview

I like this for things like getting a superview of a certain type (a for loop also works but more lines)

```
sequence(first: view, next: \.superView)
.first(where: { $0 is UITableView })
```

With some light modding of the .NET iOS SDK and Xcode, I could get my apps deployed.

WhtWndReader uses built-in framework UI, and mostly looks okay, although the UITableView for the entries stretches under the UISplitView to the other side.

Alternatively you don’t need to redo the entire app in UIKit. The smartest thing Apple did was allow SwiftUI to embed UIKit components using UIViewRepresentable and UIViewControllerRepresentable.

So you can have a 99% SwiftUI app, but that one list is a UITableView.

iOS : custom bottom bar for navigation, UITableView + custom UITableViewCell because it’s faster than SwiftUI list

iPad: SwiftUI table, NavigationSplitView or a TabView (honestly still deciding which)

And both of these have entirely different toolbar icons and placements too

From iOS11b2: UITableView has a new system gesture for quickly selecting rows. Two-finger tap on table views that support multiple selection

Is there a way to have a custom background on a List.Section header in SwiftUI that doesn’t involve hacking with around with `listRowInsets` or diving into UITableView appearance?

Working on multiline comments with UITableView posed some interesting challenges too. It was a fun case for using UITableView multiple selection gestures. Select lines to comment on with a two-finger drag!

UITableViewCell is just a specialised version of UIView in swift with a string "reuseIdentifier" allowing UITableView to dequeue and reuse cells as we scroll for smooth performance.
So cool to know these details.

That's the argument Samuel was trying to make in a nutshell. He went out of his way to call out another framework for doing exactly what RN does for 90% of things.

RN does not use UILabel, UITableView, UITabBar, etc.

no, when I say they’re not native sheets, I mean they’re a jank reimplementation using UIViews/UIScrollViews. the new sheets are real UISheetPresentationControllers
