The band recorded the album in early '88 with Drew Canulette producing. But they weren't happy with it and they weren't happy with Canulette and his mix either. But they didn't have the bucks to do anything about it and the album was released.

Yeah, it's Halloween, but it's also the day that #Soundgarden released their first studio album, #UltramegaOK, in 1988. Which is even better than the legendary West St and Grand St Halloween parties put together. If you were there, you know.

Woke up in the mood for some Soundgarden and spinning the the Sub Pop Loser Edition of Ultramega OK. Previously only had on CD. The house is loud with grunge!

Tuve la suerte de que en 1992 cayera en mis manos UltramegaOK y casi me vuela la cabeza escuchándolo.
Que grande era Cornell.. Posiblemente la mejor voz de la epoca underground de los 90.

UltramegaOK definitely feels more Sabbath, the guitar sound especially - but I think there’s something about the Screaming Life / Fopp tracks that lean more glam, maybe Guns N Roses is in there too.

I saw Nine Inch Nails on their ambitious and fantastic Peel It Back tour last month. It's a privilege to see a group of musicians on such top form.

Nine Inch Nails - Peel It Back
When Trent Reznor opened the 2nd show of the tour in Manchester last month, performing alone on piano to a full stadium, the silence from the crowd held heavy in the air, thick with potential energy.

Listening to #SoundGarden’s #UltraMegaOK, it’s interesting how little Chris’s darkness appears in the writing earlier. ‘Outshined’, ‘Fell On Black Days’ like Rothko t/w the End, Hemingway,..
Depression needlessly wins the Battle over illuminated Souls.
