i agree many of us want that element of religion that takes us inward. in undrgrad I learned about how that dimension of Chrsitianity exists through centering prayer, the cloud of unknowing, and hesychasm; so i concluded that I don't need to reject Christianity to engage contemplative practice

I teach at HE undrgrad level and the uptake of AI is v.low. These kids are *highly* tech savvy and the 'AI is bullshit' stance is more prevalent than you think. Even those who are amenable are v.nuanced re. what it can be used or and completely get that it strips away their learning if misused.

The worst of it is absolutely part of the projection of typological/essentialist thinking onto population thinking, and I find it to be absurd. I ended up really loving the population thinking Darwin pushes when I finally got real into it, and it resolved issues I had in my undrgrad w/ evopsych lol
