#universal#equivalent
there is no ideological equivalent on the left to the tea party, wanting universal healthcare is not the same as wanting a nation of sovereign citizens

84m people in the USA have the equivalent of universal care via Medicaid and the ACA, with cost sharing reductions.
What if that AND what if billionaires just paid the right amount of taxes so the working class wasn’t burdened by billionaire money hoarding?

For the non Final Fantasy XIV players on here: All of the new announcements at this FanFest are the equivalent of giving their players a paid trip to Universal Studios and free sandwiches for a year.

The new $200 billion request is basically equivalent to the cost for universal free school breakfasts and lunches for all students across the United States for a decade

Universal healthcare would mean it's available to everyone. There's no equivalent to it if it's not made available to everyone.

Seeing that message at the end of new Universal movies is pretty much the equivalent of the Universal theme park promotion they used to put at the end of movies until 2022.
‘FORGOTTEN ISLAND’ features a legal notice in its credits prohibiting the film from being used to train AI.

“This work may not be used to train AI.”

char comes across heavily redacted, censored, locked down files on garma's childhood, becomes obsessed, does not know it's just records of him doing the universal century equivalent of warrior cats online roleplay

If Saturn Donuts is the Universal Century equivalent of Dunkin, then who's our Ben Affleck?

Universal Basic Income. In every country that uses currency. 5,000 US dollars or the buying power equivalent, per month.

Every Human Being.

I truly think everything would get a lot better. And we can afford it.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

They treat parties that want to weaken universal healthcare as equivalent to a party that has increased healthcare coverage. They are “I could not pass Algebra I” unable to reason.
At lot of people's politics really do begin and end with Universal Healthcare. Its one of the more widespread forms of political brainrot.

People also just fundamentally do not understand the internal dynamics of China and that XHS is more or less exclusively by and for university educated city dwellers, so they assume the functional equivalent of "a day in my life as a PM in NYC" is universal

Consumer protections like this are one key difference between having a Democratic administration and a Republican one. Dismantle the administrative state, and such protections disappear. It’s hardly the equivalent of universal healthcare, but it matters in people’s lives.
The FTC is finally making it easier to cancel your gym membership

It has adopted a “click-to-cancel” rule requiring businesses to make canceling a subscription as easy as signing up

Maybe it will finally make gym memberships easier to cancel.

Seems like a good day to re-up this post from some years ago on why we have free universal services. Which I realize, now, anticipates a core argument of Against Money: We can't understand the purpose of public services if we think of them as equivalent to money payments. jwmason.org/slackwire/wh...

And your SUS card

(CPF is the equivalent to an American SSN, a unique identifying number per person. SUS is our universal health care system)

Oh no, the multi-billion dollar mega-conglomerate lost the equivalent of 0.003% of their yearly profit, but they need that money so badly for their shill campaigns against universal clean water

My working theory is that there is no standardizable test that can be deployed to earn the equivalent of college credit bc college classes are not taught to a universal standard and the standards they are taught to are not possible to test in a single session.

The Republican voters are seeing their sadistic fantasies enacted before their eyes. This is what they voted for, let's not kid ourselves. This is the R equivalent of Biden enacting universal health care, free higher education and beer for everyone.

and even in those communities it is not universal. This is the equivalent of the satanic panic

The press release ignores that Universal Credit was still early in rollout pre-pandemic, so starts from a very low number. It ignores equivalent group in the legacy ESA benefit that UC is replacing. You can't compare UC LCWRA over time without including the equivalent ESA. 2/7

I'd be in favor of eliminating minimum wage in return for Universal Basic Income the equivalent of higher than existing minimum. Then people would REALLY have a choice of whether or not to work for those great employers. Of course universal healthcare would also be included, because that's civilized

some people are arguing that universal healthcare is not equivalent to Medicare for all

Personally, I agree with that statement

However I must ask you—why didn’t Hakeem Jeffries not immediately specify that he had a different plan for universal healthcare? This is not a trick question.

One flight costs the equivalent of 381 years' worth of Universal Credit per person. There is no financial justification.

A lot of video games have some equivalent to Universal Basic Income. And that’s starting money. There you go. UBI works.

This, by the way, is a great illustration for why I never use the term "extremist" to describe the fascists. It evokes the sickest form of "both sides" thinking in voters, as if wanting universal human rights and wanting to abduct and murder were equivalent.

Canada, too 😊
Anything that's broken or breaking with our Universal Healthcare is usually due to a Conservative Premier under funding our hospitals and doctors and stealing our healthcare $$$ for themselves. Canada's Conservative party is our equivalent of America's Republican party, btw.
