I wonder if we're actually moving into a world where GNU/Linux is just a flat out wrong statement, Ubuntu is adopting uutils, I wouldn't be surprised if others decide to experiment with it

Ubuntu 26.10 completes the distro’s transition to Rust-based core utilities, replacing the remaining GNU versions with memory-safe alternatives from uutils.
Been using the new ssh since 25.10 and not seen any issues.
