What a pristine, unmarred Vaard would look like vs as he is now.

Guess who's slowly starting to draw again. I have so much rust to knock off.

Hello! First post here as I figure out how best to go about transferring some art over. I definitely can't transfer 12 years worth of Vaard art, but I can start with some favorites!

Vaard's name is surprisingly punnable and I've gotten some really hilarious ones from people over the years.
'It's a Vaard knock life' still lives rent free in my head.

12 years of Vaard Art means running out of ideas a lot without doing repeats, but sometimes you just have to draw them for the sake of drawing them for fun.

Still one of the best faces I've sketched to date. I haven't been able to recreate it yet but I'm still chasing this accomplishment.

Ever since Legion, Vaard is most commonly mistaken as Lightforged despite his blue eyes, so I did what he would look like as a LF on the right vs classic Vaard. No Forging for him, he can barely sneeze out a spurt of Light now despite still being classified as a Paladin. He's just good at hiding it.

Vaard originally used to be a monk back in MoP before I re rolled him to paladin which he's been ever since.
Some of the monk origin remains, however. Have a roundhouse kick motion practice.

Going through my art and updating some watermarks, I realize I have only drawn Vaard with his hair down twice and they were 6 years ago. That needs to be remedied.

After 7 years in the same mog, I'm finally retiring Vaard from the 7th Legion set and retiring him from the Stormwind army as a whole. He's getting that coffee shop and moving to a more basic adventuring armor set that I can show off later once I get the last pieces for it.
I'll get a reveal soon!

I don't think I ever posted some of ye olde 2016 chibi vaard reactionary images (and one more recent meme in the nearer last decade) that still occasionally get used to this day

A little Tomodachi life Vaard I forgot to post from earlier this year. Drawing on the switch is definitely a challenge, he's a little scribbly, but he's recognizable and is obsessed with his guitar.

Bringing this back with all of the player housing news I'm excited for. Vaard will finally have his tiny, human-sized home he lives out of. Every doorway has some wear and tear on the top of the beams where he's smacked is head over the years when not paying attention.

Another Lily and the little face she was making the entire time she thought Vaard was politely letting her down after the confession :')

Midnight is going to be an interesting one for Vaard. His connection with the light is minimal at most, he's a paladin by mostly name but good at hiding it. He has the training but not the apt, scraping through by the skin of his teeth to a paladin title at the bare minimum despite his best efforts.

Level 1 Vaard shortly after arriving on Azeroth, little self-made language dictionary in his pocket, which may or many not be accurate as he tried to figure out the language.
I never finished it but I still like this WIP from a few years ago.

If your character were in the pokemon universe, where would they be?
Vaard could happily be a middle tier rock/ground gym leader. The chikorita's more of a pet or companion than a battle partner.

Disconnect
While Vaard is a Paladin by title, it doesn’t mean he’s adept or talented in wielding Light. His fading connection has all but left him with only a few good bursts of use. He’s a paladin by the barest minimum.
He can bubble very well, though

Something Vaard always keeps tucked away in his pocket. It may have been the worst in the set of old family pictures, but he secretly kept it, and now it's one of the few things he has left since arriving alone on Azeroth.

When you've been part of a DA ttrpg for 3+ years and your girl finally confessed her feelings a few sessions ago and then the head lean happens. I had to mute my mic for a second and collect myself.

One of my favorite Highlander!Vaard pieces from FFXIV. Still have yet to settle on a pale skin tone for this version of him. It's either too yellow or too ashy but eventually I'll figure it out. Drawing that chest piece was a lot of fun though, a lot of fun.
