On this day in 1980 Formula 2 team Toleman (pictured occupying the front row before a packed crowd at Vallelunga) announced they would enter Formula 1 the following year.
They later became Benetton, then Renault, then Lotus, then Renault again and now race as Alpine.

'La Carte Postale du Jour', Campagnano di Roma, Ingresso all'Autodromo de Vallelunga. Elle est belle la petite MGA, qui va sûrement faire quelques tours sur ce beau circuit de Vallelunga! Le conducteur doit avoir le casque dans le coffre et la tête dans les nuages... Bon weekend!
