A bit late. But what's Fucken Cooken Today? Its Javanese Sweet and Sour Tamarind Soup (Sayur Asem). It's all veges, peanuts and tofu. Very healthy

In an effort to reduce the amount of grass that needs to be mown we’ve created a wee vege garden patch today. 3x tomato seedlings in so far. Bunch of seed germinating for zucchini, cucumbers, chilli’s and more yet to go in 🌱

I made a pretty decent throw together stirfry tonight.. garlic, onion, mince, soy sauce, maggi 'oriental' noodles, and a couple of cups of frozen mixed veges. Mmm. Fed bean. At least that's thursday friday taken care of. Saturday for potato prepping.

I made a pretty decent throw together stirfry tonight.. garlic, onion, mince, soy sauce, maggi 'oriental' noodles, and a couple of cups of frozen mixed veges. Mmm. Fed bean. At least that's thursday friday taken care of. Saturday for potato prepping.

I’m just chopping veges and going about my evening and every now and again I feel happy for no reason whatsoever and I stop and think why, and then I remember the election. It’s been the opposite lately so thank you, America, for cheering me up so much.

I think it can be difficult for us to make space for silliness and fun, if it feels like it takes away from Important Things. But it is an Important Thing. The contrasts are what give our work form and depth. What enables us to do the hard stuff.

Apparently I was such a friend of snails as a toddler that I used pick them up and lick them (yes, their slimy bits). These days I pick them up just to move them off the path or from my veges, and I give the licking a miss.

I'll give them a light scrub to remove the last of the soil but no, I won't peel them.
They're completely pesticide free so the skins should be fine.
I'm vego so I'm just craving roast veges.

I've just moved into a rental property that's pretty bare. It had a lemon tree that was overrun by the rootstock so I've been able to salvage that. I have just installed raised beds for some veges and am looking to put roses in. I think the fennel can go nicely in there

Its lovely to encourage his interest & agree to make dishes. It'll help him get used to dishes & how they're made. My stepdaughter liked everything separate,so no sandwiches or burgers, but was great at choosing salad veges (each vege had its own dish, kids served themselves). Now she eats widely!

My son is on the spectrum. He has a "white diet" - eats very little that isn't very plain and something he already knows. Our best success has been sneaking veges into stuff that looks otherwise quite plain

Why is it that the only veges that come canned are ones I don't like? Mushrooms beetroot asparagus peas corn.. surely you can can green beans ?!?!? Carrots? Pickled carrots?
