New veloway, I like it more than I thought I would. Open on top is good. Rough but small bumps where sections join, hopefully they can do something about that.

The veloway was opened today. BikeWest will continue to push to get safe ways to reach it and other day to day trips in the inner west.

Came in before sunrise this morning and I got to see how bright the greenwash lighting is in the Veloway. The whole corridor is very well lit and there are plenty of other people out and about.

Ughhhhh
Knew this would happen and it's not great especially when trying to pass the joggers.
I've also discovered that some of the expansion joints are so rough they set my bell off when I ride over them.

We're calling on the state & federal governments to live up to Albo's 2019 promise to build safe bike lanes on Napier & Buckley Streets. These lanes would link the Veloway to central Footscray, the new hospital, Vic Uni & the Sunshine Path. Build the missing #westlink

Today I used the new Veloway to get to work. About 6 minutes from one end to the other, at a casual pace. I left audio in so you can get a sense of the truck traffic below (the upper deck hasn't opened yet) and the kathunks over the expansion joints.

I rode the veloway before trucks start raining pollution down from above when it opens. Wasn't expecting it to be quite as bumpy where the joins are.
