The material was also sold to other buyers. It formed the core of the US "VENONA" effort that revealed many Soviet spies in the 1950s, including the Rosenbergs.

The Venona documents clearly establish that Julius Rosenberg, was guilty beyond any legitimate question at all, and his brother-in-law, Ethel’s brother was as well.
Had Ethel given evidence against either, almost certainly she would not have been executed.
