See you tonight at the Fool’s 48 Short Film Project at the Coyote Twin Theater in Vermillion, South Dakota! Here’s a film still from the ad we made as a sponsor. We can’t wait to share the full video!

A still from a short video depicting a closeup of a serious looking photographer in a dramatically dark… dark room squeegeeing 35mm negatives with his gloved hands.

Happy Franks-Giving!

Photos by Aaron C Packard.

Thank you to everyone who was part of the Rocky Horror Preservation Society shadow cast, the VCA and Coyote Twin for hosting, and everyone who attended our Halloween screening!

A portrait of a Dr. Frank-N-Furter impersonator posing innocently as they sport a black corset, plastic pearls, and a leather jacket covered in pins. A picture of Dr. Frank-N-Furter dancing with a silver lined cape on stage in front of Magenta, Columbia, and Riff Raff singing about being from Transylvania on the movie theater screen in the background. A photograph of a sold-out movie theater during a Halloween screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Coyote Twin theater in Vermillion, South Dakota, featuring the shadow cast gathered in the center aisle and in the front row. In an empty house, in the middle of the night, a Tim Curry impersonator struts on stage in a red corset as the real Dr. Frank-N-Furter sings “Don’t Dream it, Be it” as the movie plays.”

I definitely have fallen behind on sharing some of our adventures this year!

Painter Klaire Lockheart managed to create the two large detailed oil paintings hanging on white gallery walls but somehow cannot take a decent selfie. The artist appears in the lower left corner while her handsome husband, wearing a black cap, is shown in the lower right corner. In this selfie, a doofus with braids peeks into the left side as a man in a black coat steps in frame on the right. The couple flanks a woven work of art by Phyllis W. Packard at the Coyote Gallery. Before a hazy cloud generated from unseen burnout tires at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip, a person with terrible allergies takes a selfie, which documents herself in the lower right quadrant wearing a black mask. The left corner includes a bewildered/be-hatted photographer clutching his camera. This selfie was taken by the person cowering in the lower right corner, and it includes her suave husband’s face in the bottom left corner. The humans were at Dinosaur Park, which includes a green and white cement sauropod at the top of the hill along with a creative interpretation of a Tyrannosaurus rex.

I see you shiver with antici... pation, but will I see you at the 50th anniversary of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Coyote Twin movie theater on Halloween? Make sure to get your ticket before you make the trip to Vermillion: coyotetwin.com

Dr. Frank-N-Furter strikes a dramatic pose on stage at the Coyote Twin movie theater in Vermillion, South Dakota in front of a crowd during a screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. As the “Time Warp” plays on the movie screen in the background, unconventional conventionists dance on stage as the audience participates by dancing along in their seats and in the aisles during a shadow cast performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. A horizontal Halloween poster includes the text, “Rocky Horror Screening Shadow Cast Performance, October 31 | 10pm, Coyote Twin Theater,” and “$20 General Admit, $18 Student Admit, $5 Prop Bags, coyotetwin.com,” along with a photo of Columbia in her gold coat dancing in front of the opening credits of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Aaron had a blast serving as a judge for the Fool’s 48 Short Film Project hosted by the Vermillion Cultural Association! Congratulations to all the teams!

This bad selfie was taken by the goofball in the lower right corner as a way to document photographer Aaron C Packard in his beret before he heads inside the Coyote Twin movie theater in Vermillion, South Dakota. A square violet poster begins with the text, “Fool’s 48 Short Film Project 2026” printed near the top. A horizontal photograph of Aaron C Packard inside Fotolab No.7 is next, slightly overlapped by the Vermillion Cultural Association logo. Taken within the Coyote Twin movie theater, this photo shows the screen bearing a large “Thank You” message above the winning short film teams.
