In Virtua Fighter 5 (and VF5R), there's a mechanic called the Throw Clash System where a throw can cancel out an attack with the right timing, resetting both players to neutral at +0 frame advantage. This mechanic was removed in VF5FS and VF5US/VFes.

You totally should, VF is very good & VFDC is an extremely comprehensive resource for learning the game. And it’s $20 not on sale so like not a huge investment (bare bones product though to be fair)

vf5 is so good as a core thing that it deserves to be a fg you can play forever. the new trial menu stuff where they give you useful moves & combos ingame for those who dont want to have to have VFDC open in another window is all fantastic. i hope they get the blemishes off & pull it together.
