I loathe the "advice" to "just" refuse, loathe it even more when failure to do so enough (is it ever enough??) is framed as foolish, misplaced love; affective dysregulation; pathological investment. It's not pathological to not want to dick your students and colleagues over.

I have Feelings about what people grow; i am a known lawn-hater. But to be clear - telling people who are going through #FoodInsecurity or hunger or worrying about the cost of groceries to “just grow food” is just another form of #VictimBlame. Growing non-toxic food is expensive and labor intensive.
