It sucks that Apple lets people get victimized like this.
My iPhone was stolen and the thief changed my AppleID and used it to steal from my accounts. After I tried to reset the password, the thief changed the “trusted phone number” associated with ID. After days speaking with Apple Support, they tell me there’s nothing to be done once the number changes.
