I'm beyond excited for next years @mariposanature.bsky.social Orchids of Basilicata, Campania & Puglia tour - it's a renowned orchid-hunting destination, and a potent place for hybrid finds. Two places to join me and Miki Vigano there have just opened up...

Mel Gibson dreht gerade eine Fortsetzung der "Passion Christi" in Rom. Jüngst erhielt er am Set Besuch des italienischen Geistlichen Carlo Maria Viganó. Überraschend ist dieser Besuch nicht. 1/6

Postcard from the field from tour leader Michele Viganò, co-leading our Spring Butterflies of Marvellous Morocco tour:

In the past couple of days we've enjoyed wonderful views of Fatma's Bavius Blue, believed locally extirpated until we re-found it in Morocco last year.

this is going to accelerate Antipope Viganò
The new Pope didn't tweet once in 2024. In 2025, he's posted 5 times, in which he:

- Criticized JD Vance's views on Catholicism and Jesus
- Posted an article opposing Trump's immigration policies
- Retweeted twice about the Pope's health
- Retweeted a criticism of Trump & Bukele's laughter at KAG.

One question: outside of Vigano, who is going to have the connections or money to be antipope?
The non-zero possibility of a schism resulting in an American Antipope is getting progressively less non-zero.
It’s come to this: “Catholic members of the US armed forces could in good conscience consider disobeying orders to attack Greenland if such orders were issued, according to Archbishop Timothy Broglio, the bishop responsible for the pastoral care of US military personnel.”

www.vaticannews.va/en/vatican-c... btw Francis did this in 2024 to Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, arguably a WAY more influential figure than the SSPX guys, and again it was specifically for calling Francis an illegitimate pope and refusing to accept Vatican II. I do not think Leo blinks first here

This morning, Italian former archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò had this to say about the late Pope Francis, just hours after his death.

A few months back, I wrote about Viganò and the other "trad caths" who were not exactly bereft as Pope Francis was ailing. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

The Vatican excommunicated Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, exacting a severe punishment on the most vociferous internal critic of Pope Francis for refusing to recognize the authority of the pope and liberal reforms made by the Roman Catholic Church since the Second Vatican Council in the 1960s.

In a rare trial, the Vatican acted against Carlo Maria Viganò, a former ambassador to the U.S. and one of Pope Francis’s most vociferous internal critics.
