⚡️BREAKING: Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen warned that Russian athletes will not be welcome in Finland next year if Russia continues its war against Ukraine.
Valtonen announced plans to push EU counterparts to restrict Russian athletes from entering the entire Schengen area.
Mark Carney: "Russia and Belarus are supporting this illegal and unjustified horrific war in Ukraine, as long as that's going on, there will be none of those athletes competing for their countries in Canada. So if you're asking specifically about the World Juniors, the Russians will not be there."

Not if they don't get visas. Pretty sure Alberta plays no role in issuing of visas.
This isn’t the main injustice of this admin but I personally really need the dem majorities to reverse the hatchet job this admin has done on student loans and student visas bc it is making my job extremely stressful

I think I remember reading somewhere that healthcare worker visas dropped by 60~%. That must be mad crippling for the healthcare system. I cannot imagine this can go on much longer.

That's before you consider the ruinous costs they have to pay to get their visas renewed every few years not to mention the additional admin burden on employers who have to demand new share codes from them every six months and check their validity or risk prosecution.
Utterly stupid.

Breaking: Prime Minister Mark Carney says Russian and Belarusian athletes will not be permitted to represent their countries in Canada as long as the war in Ukraine continues.
Russia could go back to CAS and demand that tournaments be moved from countries that won’t issue visas. The IIHF would argue that there isn’t time to do that this season, and with participating countries and sponsors threatening boycotts, there are no realistic alternatives.
Once the IIHF informs Hockey Canada that Russia is reinstated for the World Junior (as ordered by CAS) expect the matter to be referred to the federal government, which will then officially announce what it has said in the past: it will not issue visas for Russia to participate in the tournament.
Czech authorities will not issue visas to Russian hockey players for the junior world championship. The Sports Arbitration Court decision allowing Russian hockey players to take part in international competitions does not oblige the Czech
