Turns out "Everything" by voidtools is the correct tool for searching filenames instantly.
Windows 10 explorer is so bad and slow that it's faster for me to search the web for sound effects than my own hard drive. :/

Final idea, a tool I put on most peoples PCs when I get the chance is Voidtools "Everything".
Its a great search tool, much better then the built in search. Download it, give it a sec to index (It's 3-15 seconds to index ALL your drives) and search for a file you remember
