During my time with Virgin Trains I was responsible for the PR and Media activity around the VT Express Coach services. Stagecoach operated the VT99 from Milton Keynes to Luton Airport and National Express the VT98 from Watford Junction to Heathrow Airport.

The idea was that it would replace railbuses like the VT95 and 98, adding more capacity to eliminate the need to run more than a single car, thereby saving maintenance costs. In reality, running a 2 car train instead 1 didn't really add much cost, so it was really a solution looking for a problem.

DB VT98、流体継手＆電磁制御機械変速機で付随車つき長編成も組める羨ましいレールバスだけど、その駆動システムはレールバスのスケールだから実用化できたということなんだろうか

On the main screen select CV Programming. For non Zimo decoders you have to select Program On Main (POM) > Manual then manually enter the loco address (79 for my VT98) and CV address to change (902 for this Lenz decoder). 255 is the highest volume.

Bought an ex demo VT98 at the recent International Spur 0+1 show directly from the Lenz stand. The sound was REALLY loud, presumably for exhibition purposes, so I turned it down using the Z21 app. You need to read the manual to find out which CV controls the sound, 902 in my case.

I have been tempted by this special edition VT98 for ages, but couldn't justify the extra €200 above the standard version. However, this ex-display model was on the Lenz stand at the recent International Spur 0 + 1 show at the same price as the standard model, so what could I do!

This is the special livery VT98 rail bus I got at the show today. I have long wanted this and with €200 off the list price I couldn’t resist.

What I love so much about this trailer for #WickedForGood is that Universal and Jon M. Chu didn’t reveal any of the major spoilers that happens in the stage musical. Letting those who haven’t seen the film guess of how it is going to play out. Can’t wait for November!
