I just finished VtMB2(+optimizer mod) for a second time, after replaying VtMB1 (+unofficial patch) and I confirm: VtMB2 is so much better, deeper, simply on the writing, fighting, and voicing. Emotionally, cried for vengeance, love and grief. Meanwhile, VtMB1 may have more quests but means nothing.

Nevermind, VtMB2 is so much more fun =w= AND i found an optimizing mod on Nexus that make the game runs like smooth butter ! so good ^^
Finished replaying the first VtMB last night, with the updated unofficial patch.
It was pretty good again. But I don't think it's that much better than VtmB2 somehow, or at all. There are more quests but i'm not sure how much is from the patch. The disciplines are barebones and gameplay is basic.

Putting all the problem of the development and Paradox mismanagement, I genuinely feel that VtmB2 was judged by unfair standards from memories of VtmB that do not hold up to a replay.

My only problems with VtMB2 are the perfomances issues and optimization, and I wish there were more side questlines. Otherwise, the combat, movements and disciplines are better than vtmb imo.

I think that's what made VTMB2 fail so fucking hard on it's face; It didn't have the "sauce". You were the most important vampire, etc.
