VTTs (virtual tabletops) are here, baby! I think the most popular ones are still Foundry VTT and Roll20, but there are a lot of them.

I had much to say about TTRPG VTTs.
Was talking about it with a friend but the fact that "VTTs" as a thing is kind of wild considering how each TTRPG is different from one another.
You don't have "VTTs" in the board game world apart from Tabletop Simulator because... each board game is so different.

talking a little more about VTTs, what I'd really really love is an open standard for VTT game assets, where you could bundle files for your game in them and VTTs using that standard then implement them. One of the pains is every VTT is its own snowflake.

This touches all parts of the ecosystem - VTTs, dice roller apps, adventures, tips on how to run TTRPGs - are ALL geared toward D&D specifically. Advice videos especially, so many are "here's how to do X in D&D because it's not supported" and I just think "yeah but it is in this indie game!"
Listening to people say D&D has no negative bearing on the indie creative space at large has me tweaking.
This is a creative monopoly unlike anything seen before or ever. I have a list of marketing outreach channels where 95 out of a 100 contacts exclusively cover D&D/OSR (D&D adjacent)...
