6 days remain for screaming metal. 6 days to join the pilot program and leave your mark on the leaderboard. 6 days to join the W3IRD and explore its horrors. 6 days.

Possibly my favorite part of Screaming Metal, inspired super heavily by my partner's short-lived but brilliant and sexy mecha game she ran last year.
Programs Vectors come equipped with the default W3IRD OS (additional programs are available in shops or on-loan from handlers). W3IRD OS allows pilots to interface with digital space through a series of pocket rooms and hidden compartments that make up any individuals digital footprint, connected by a rolling field of golden sunflowers, splashed with data-moshing reality, stretchy polygonal distortions, and stuttering audiovisual glitches. Pilots exist in both realms simultaneously when they are in their vector. Their digital avatars appear as any shape and design they desire, and can touch and interact with the W3IRD no different than they can IRL. All hacking occurs here. All digital communication happens here. Space and Distance Space in the W3IRD is not 1-to-1 with the physical, but proximity to someone IRL does put their digital presence within your reach in the W3IRD. Pilots can be side by side in the W3IRD while not within the same galaxy sector IRL. They can have entire cyber-conflicts before their vectors connect blades. Most pilots and civilians live entirely separate lives within the W3IRD, intermingling and communicating under new identities.

Maia Brown-Jackson. Collateral Damage I may have been born in heaven but I was raised in hell. Though the blood of angels runs through my veins, I was taught young to rip the feathers free from my wings and use them to smear the dripping red mess across my own flesh in a declaration of war. When you worry over how far I fell, remember: they had already exposed me like a raw nerve and never meant for me to be more than collateral damage, anyway. 15 W3IRD

In a flower field in the W3IRD, two pilots meet. They know they’ll kill each other soon, but before that, they embrace. Sink claws into flesh in carnal lust. Their bodies flatten digital JPEGs of poppies and tulips. Tangle in the sunflower flats.

This is Screaming Metal: Vector Soul.
A mass of distorted, blurred, and pixelated faces: mecha pilots. They are twisted in agony and extreme emotion. Each one is being located by a computer system and categorized. It says "HYPER TRAUMA" in the bottom right.
