More work on my Star Wars Age of Rebellion campaign. This is the Sand Dragon Tea Room in Jedha City. Run by Old Vasha and her grandson Hettan, it's also a safe house for the Partisans.
This photo of pages from my notebook shows a floorplan of fictitious tea room in the Holy City on the planet Jedha from the Star Wars universe. There is also a go at an illustration of the sign hanging outside the tea house over the door. The illustration is of a dragon curled around a Japanese Wagara.

If the Confluence series (Confluence, One Heart Together, &c) were on TV, I could see the opening credits merging wagara patterns seen in sashiko embroidery, with the lines of circuitry, over maps of the settings.

The fabric I wore included an example of a Wagara pattern. Specifically the interlocking diamond chain motif is known as Yoshiwara Shima and symbolises community; which I felt was very apt for my community flag work.

I love the pattern of stripes on deck chairs and how they make a strong contrast to the angle of attention of various figures.

In a way, the repeated stripe pattern in your painting reminds me a little of Japanese repeated patterns in fabric & paper (Wagara)
