Remember that tweet where the lady is talking to the bees? Shoestring fries are the wasps of that tweet.
We need more steak fries and more crinkle cut fries but more importantly shoestring fries can go straight to hell

Another batch of wasps that I illustrated this year. 2026 has been crazy, and I haven't gotten around to creating very much, but I plan to draw more wasps, and be more productive in 2027!

Figs even have enzymes to digest dead wasps. They're insectivores!

Last of the Summer Vines
There were 5 Red Admirals & any number of Hornets & Wasps outside the back door yesterday.
This clip provides some idea of the (large) size of a Hornet when compared with the butterfly. Wasps will rarely feed next to a Hornet but the wasp is a much smaller creature.

Entomologist barging in: good news! Nearly all figs eaten by humans today* are from are parthenocarpic strains; that includes the ones that go into Fig Newtons. They do not need the wasps to make fruit.
(*Unless you are eating a Smyrna fig, which still needs pollination by wasps.)

If you’re worried about fig wasps wait until you hear about all other food
I used to love figs until I found out about fig wasps

My favorite part of knocking down a wasp nest is when the wasps come out peacefully and surrender to my overwhelming strength and power
